Day 12: The Coconut Macaroon

Day 12:  The Coconut Macaroon  We leave the flour in the barrel and the butter in the fridge for this cookie.  Made with only egg whites, coconut, sugar and vanilla this cookie is made for the gluten intolerant people.  And you know what else?  It contains minimal fat so you can eat a few and not feel the slightest bit guilty. And you know what else?  They taste great!  And they are easy to make!  So this cookie has a lot going for it. Which is nice.

Day 11: Gingerbread People

Picture this:  Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass team up with Tim Burton to make a dystopian stop motion animation holiday special.  Charleton Heston voices the character of Robbie Thorn, inspector for the Christmastown Police Department.  Christmastown is overpopulated with elves and other cartoon characters. Resources are running dangerously low.  How are we going to feed everyone?  Inspector Thorn stumbles upon a dark secret-  Gingerbread are Elves!

Luckily we aren’t in the year 2022 when the movie Soylent Green supposedly takes place.  Our gingerbread cookies are people but only in their shape, not their ingredients!

Day 10: It’s a Lamp!

Day 10: It’s A Lamp!

I was looking for new Holiday cookie cutters and happened upon this one.  Had to get it!  My favorite Holiday movie of all time.  I’m the one who keeps A Christmas Story on the screen in the background all day during the Turner marathon.  We don’t have cable any more so I got the DVD.

This is a sugar cookie with yellow royal icing, red sanding sugar for the lamp fringe and piped melted chocolate.

Here’s your chance to eat a major award for the Holidays.  But be careful, they are f-r-a-g-i-l-e.   That’s Italian.
