Umpleby's Bakery & Café

In anticipation of the Irish themed food this weekend and leading up to Tuesday I’m hitting the bottle shop tomorrow morning to pick up a bottle of Baileys for the Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecakes. Also, I guess I better pick up some Guinness too for the Guinness Brown Bread we’ll have for St. Patrick’s Day as well.  This bread is fantastic for Reubens!!    And we’ll have Irish Soda Bread all weekend as well (there’s no alcohol in that!)

I saw this article on NPR today about Foodie Band Names   One that was suggested was Bread Zeppelin.     I think those just might be Umpleby’s baguettes.

I’d be happy if Jimmy Page gave one of our loaves a go.

UPDATE:  You have to read the comments posted and band / food names suggested.  I have not laughed this hard in MONTHS!

In memory of Leonard Nimoy the lunch special will be The Mr. Spock.  I’m not sure what it will be but I do know it will be logical and fascinating.   RIP Mr. Nimoy.

UPDATE- The Mr. Spock Sandwich today will be  hot roast beef with grilled onions and mushrooms and swiss cheese.   We felt that the iron in the roast beef would be beneficial to green blood.  Your choice of either mustard or mayo will depend on your own logic.
