The End of Something Very Special: Hi-Land Farm Goat Cheese

Today Jean Hulburt, the owner of Hi-Land Farm Goat Cheese in Cornish, NH, told me that today would be her last delivery to me.  She had been selling her wonderful goat cheese to me for the cafe for the past 11 years.   Running the Farm had just become too much for her and she finally had to face the decision to close the Farm down and sell her flock of goats.

It is so extremely sad to think that what Jean, her late husband Jerry and their Family had worked so hard at for so many years is now no more.

Lunch Special on Friday – The Hoggs Boson

In celebration of the discovery of the Higgs boson we will be offering a Kansas City style – (sweet and tangy) pulled pork sandwich on our own onion roll with our own potato salad – The Hoggs Boson!!

Just like the Higgs, our Hoggs Boson takes a massive amount of energy to make (well actually no, it just takes a low and slow oven to roast) , it breaks apart almost immediately when created (because it is so delicious you will want to devour it in nano seconds) and there’s debris afterward (some leftover sauce and all the napkins you used to eat it) .

Come celebrate science at Umpleby’s tomorrow!!
