Umpleby's Bakery & Café

I have finally updated our dessert/ pie menu for the summer season.  You can download it under our menu downloads page.  I have also added a breakfast pastry menu to download.   I’m glad it has cooled down a bit outside!

I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of summer.   I think part of of the reason for that is due to the fact that when I am working on the bench I am standing in front of 2 475  – 500 degree deck ovens that I bake the bread in.   I would prefer to do that when the thermometer reads 60 – 70 rather than 80 -90.  But please don’t let that stop you from stopping by and getting something from the cafe.  Because the ovens are in the bakehouse, not the cafe!

Fresh fruit tarts are a taste of summer. Iced lattes are a taste of summer. Peach Almond Tarts are a taste of summer.   Fresh produce from Your Farm in Fairlee, VT is a taste of summer.

We will be open our normal hours this Saturday and Sunday but will be closed on the 4th of July to give the staff a much earned day off (and me too!).   So plan ahead and come get all your baked goods, breads, pies and desserts for your picnics and soirees before Monday.

Note:  We will be at our usual booth at the Norwich Farmers’ Market this Saturday starting at 9am and we will be bringing a wall of food as the weather looks very promising!
