Had a great time with the Hanover High School Group today!

This week is March intensive at Hanover High School which means (at least this is my understanding)  the students sign up for a class that runs for one week and they learn about a specific topic study.  Some students, for example,  went to Nicaragua to help build a school I believe.  One group is learning about the breads of the world and the importance of cafes in communities.  So I had the honor of hosting that  group of 12 students and two teachers and I gave them an impassioned talk on how cafes are VERY, VERY important and contribute greatly to the vitality of the local community.    As I like to say with a smile,  “we are in the quality of life business”!

Are you a homebrewer?

Are you a fan of the craft beer movement?  Do the words chinook, wyeast, and hydrometer mean something to you? Do you enjoy talking about IBU’s and shun fizzy yellow BMC products?  Then the Upper Valley Homebrew Club is for you!  We meet the third wednesday of the month at Umpleby’s Cafe at 7:30pm.   Email the bakery for more details!  And Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  I hope you are trying a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout along with the standard Guinness Extra Stout.
