Umpleby's Bakery & Café

We’re all taking the day off today here at the cafe.

See you tomorrow as we progress in to September and the beginning of the hopefully cooler, less humid weather.  That also means daily soup offerings are around the corner,  the Umplenut has yet to make its debut, and Autumn inspired desserts will be on the menu.

While we’re not French a lot of the pastries and desserts we sell are certainly French influenced.  Drop by and have a taste of France and celebrate the storming of the Bastille and commemorate the 1790 Fête de la Fédération.

We have the taste of summer here at Umpleby’s –  peaches!   We will be making peach turnovers, peach crumb pies, peach tarts and peach fruit tarts this week and going forward!  Eat a peach and think of Duane.

By the way, here is a culinary secret you might not know about –  fresh peaches go really, really well with fresh basil!
